Nothing that might scratch the glass should be used
If your window has a stain, you might be tempted to clean it with an abrasive pad or steel wool. These may solve the problem, but they may also leave unsightly marks behind. Razor blades, putty knives, or anything else that might scratch the glass surface should not be used.
Washing or rinsing your windows with high-pressure sprays is not recommended
Keep a pressure washer away from your windows if you have one. In fact, high-pressure sprayers should not be used on windows, doors, skylights, or other things that have seals and gaskets. This may cause damage to these critical frame components or cause them to get dislodged from their proper position.
Don’t make the mistake of using the wrong cleaner
